Take a moment to look around and you will realize that God is quite an artist!
As we rush through life, heading here and there to take care of the matters of daily life, we often fail to notice how stunning the world is.
Beauty is a mere glance away. Can you pause to look out the window or stop when you are walking the dog to truly notice what surrounds? You may agree especially if you’ve been fortunate to travel beyond your local area.
My state of Maryland is a great example of the visual interest and diversity that is everywhere. Scenic pasture lands, rolling hills aspiring to be mountains, rivers, bays and the Atlantic coastline — visual feasts ready for you to indulge.
Elsewhere you can find grasslands, farms, ranches, deserts, savanna and towering peaks that stretch to infinity. Majesty is everywhere for those with time to gaze.
Even without a plane ticket each of us can travel the world on an electronic screen. I love snow-capped mountains and can enjoy the splendor of the Rockies or the Alps from a comfortable chair in my living room. Perhaps you are partial to waterfalls. If so, tune into the marvel of Iguazu Falls bordering Brazil and Argentina. It’s one of the world’s largest waterfall systems with 275 distinct drops spanning nearly three kilometers. It is both breathtaking and awe-inspiring prompting recognition of the power and creative magnificence of the Creator Source.
Despite blankets of ice and snow in many places during winter, we will soon be gifted with spring’s annual extravaganza when even the plants labeled weeds take on a wondrous glow.
In short, no matter when or where you turn, God’s artistic abilities are evident. So, consider gifting yourself with a bit more time to notice. If you do, I believe you will not only begin to see the presence of the Creator Source everywhere but you will begin to connect more deeply to the Divine. And that alone is worth taking the time to pause. . .
