CaptureDuring Susan Driscoll’s most recent channeling of Martin and Company at Soul Source Martin reminded us that “all wisdom is birthed in silence.” He went on to say “all sacredness is shrouded in silence”, a phenomena experienced by those who visit holy sites. Most importantly, Martin reminded us that it is in the silence that we are directly connected to and flow with SOURCE — small statements conveying profound truths.

People who chide me about the frantic pace that sometimes characterizes my days might be surprised to learn how addicted I am to silence and how much silence I need to preserve my equanimity. In fact I crave silence the way I crave the foods that I fancy; actually I think I crave silence more.

I used to think my need for silence was merely the antidote to over scheduled days. But somewhere along the way, I realized that silence had become much more. I discovered that silence is more than the portable respite that is packed and ready to accompany me on my action-packed days. Silence is the window to my soul and the link to tapping into higher consciousness. And as it turns out, silence is as essential to the soul’s growth as air and water are to our body’s survival.

One of the best pieces of advice I received from an intuitive years ago was that my spirit guides’ efforts to communicate with me were frustrated by my busy schedule and my even more active mind. Prior to that point I had learned how to be still but had not yet learned how to quite my mind. My spirit guides specifically recommended that I spend as much time over the upcoming winter months sitting in silence. I vividly recall mentally shrieking ‘are they kidding — that will be near impossible’! But not one to ignore advice from on-high, I struggled over the coming months to set aside time each day to do nothing and YIKES to empty my mind. I likened my experience at the time to voluntarily putting on a mental straight jacket! Yet lo and behold, truly to my amazement, I began to discover the joy of silence and ultimately to relish and crave silence.

So as Martin reminded us that it is in silence that we are directly connected to and flow with SOURCE, I knew first-hand how profoundly this message can impact one’s life. Silence became the doorway to my interior world, the place that I found my soul resides — the place where SOURCE can be found and heard. And that is something that is more than worth experiencing. Too often we go about life caught-up in the drama of our exterior world, too busy to realize and enjoy the richness that awaits in our interior world.

Imagine that within you, right now at this very moment in time and in every moment I time, is your link to Highest Consciousness. In my view, what awaits in the silence is definitely worth clearing time on the calendar, turning off the TV, unplugging the phone, computer and every other electronic gizmo that we are tethered to. What you will discover in the silence is absolutely worth the struggle to shut down one’s own internal chatter box. You will be amazed at what awaits, who and what you will hear, what wisdom you will acquire and what mysteries you will uncover. And hopefully you will eventually realize that it is within your silence that you have found your direct connection to SOURCE. And when you do, enjoy the silence and most especially enjoy the reunion . . .!
